Pups Deployed is a small, veteran-owned business and we want our website to be usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA where it's reasonable for a small-business marketing site.
What we do
- Use semantic HTML (real headings, lists, and landmarks) so screen readers can navigate the site.
- Provide text alternatives for meaningful images and mark decorative images appropriately.
- Maintain color contrast that meets or exceeds WCAG AA for body text.
- Make all interactive elements (links, buttons, form fields) reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus indicator.
- Provide a “Skip to main content” link as the first focusable element on every page.
- Label every form input, pair errors with their fields via
aria-describedby, and announce errors to assistive tech viarole="alert". - Honor the operating system's reduced-motion preference: the scrolling banner pauses and other animations are suppressed when you have Reduce motion enabled.
- Avoid auto-playing audio or video and avoid content that flashes.
- Provide the same information available on the service-zone map as a keyboard-accessible list and table below it, so the map is never the only way to get the info.
Known limitations
We're a small operation and the site is a work in progress. Things we're still improving:
- The customer walk-history page uses a private link. If you need an alternative format (text-only summary, plain email), tell us and we'll send one.
- The interactive Colorado Springs map is provided by Leaflet. The tile imagery is decorative; the colored zones, neighborhoods, and schedules are also listed in text below the map.
- Some illustrations are decorative and have no alt text by design.
Need an alternative?
If something on the site is hard to use, or you need information in a different format, please get in touch. We'll do our best to respond within one business day.

Feedback
We welcome feedback on the accessibility of this site. If you run into a barrier we haven't listed above, let us know what page you were on and what you were trying to do. We'll fix what we can and tell you honestly when we can't.
