Frequently asked questions
The stuff people ask before the meet & greet. If yours isn't here, drop it in the notes when you send an inquiry.
What's a meet & greet, and how much does it cost?
It's a free 20-30 minute visit at your home, on the house. We meet your dog on home turf, learn the routine, confirm we're a good fit, and set up the key handoff. It happens before service starts so day one feels familiar to your dog instead of cold-open. No pressure to book.
How do you get into my home?
Whatever works best for you. Most clients use a lockbox or smart-lock code. Some hand off a key at the meet & greet, in which case we store it in a coded lockbox at home base, never labeled with your address.
Are you insured and bonded?
Yes, fully insured and bonded with pet-care liability coverage. Happy to share the policy on request.
What if it's snowing, hailing, or there's a thunderstorm?
Safety first. We'll still do a potty break and a short loop in light weather, but in lightning, hail, extreme cold, or hot pavement we cut the walk short and spend the rest of the time indoors with your dog. You always get a full update either way.
Do you walk dogs from different households together?
No, never. Each visit is solo or your own household's dogs only. That keeps the walk safer, more focused, and avoids any unfamiliar-dog stress.
Can I book on-demand or same-day?
We're not an on-demand service. Walks are scheduled by zone, which is how we keep visits on time and pricing honest. New-client timeline: inquiry, then a meet & greet within a few days, then your recurring schedule starts the following week.
What's the cancellation policy?
24 hours notice for a regular cancel, no charge. Same-day cancels are billed at half rate (the day's route is already locked in). Weather, illness, and family emergencies are always free.
How do you handle reactive or anxious dogs?
Carefully. Slow approaches, routes that avoid triggers (other dogs, bikes, etc.), and we skip dog parks. If your dog is severely reactive, we may suggest solo-only sessions and check in often during the first few visits.
Still have questions?
Easiest way to get answers is the meet & greet. It's free.
