Pups Deployed (“we,” “us,” “our”) is a small, veteran-owned dog-walking business based in Colorado Springs, CO. This policy explains what information we collect from you, how we use it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible and never sell your data.
What we collect
We collect only the information you give us, plus the basic technical info every website logs.
- Inquiry form:name, email, phone, service address, your zone (which Colorado Springs neighborhood), dogs' names and details, plan and day preferences, optional notes, and (optionally) service-discount eligibility.
- Active clients:the same details as above, plus recurring schedule and any access or emergency-contact notes you give us at the meet & greet (kept in our private notes for your client record).
- Walk records: dates, times, walker notes, and the photo we take on each visit.
- Website logs: standard server logs (IP address, user-agent, requested URL) used for security and debugging.
How we use it
- To respond to your inquiry and set up a meet & greet.
- To schedule, route, and complete walks.
- To send you the photo and notes after each walk.
- To bill you and keep accurate business records.
- To contact you about your dog, your service, or a safety issue.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We share information only with service providers who help us run the business, and only as needed:
- Hosting: our website and customer database are hosted on Vercel.
- Email and SMS: when we send transactional messages (inquiry confirmations, schedule confirmations, walk recaps), they go through our email and SMS providers.
- Photo storage: walk photos are stored on Vercel Blob storage.
- Payment processor (Stripe):billing runs through Stripe. Card details are entered on Stripe's servers, never ours; we only receive a brand and last-4 for display (e.g. “Visa 4242”) plus opaque Stripe identifiers used to create charges and receipts. Stripe's privacy practices are governed by their own policy at stripe.com/privacy.
- Law enforcement: we will share information if required by a valid legal request.
Your private walk-history link
Active clients receive a private, hard-to-guess link to their dog's walk history. Anyone with the link can view it, so don't share it publicly. If you lose it, text us at (781) 249-9628and we'll generate a new one and disable the old.
Texting and email
We text and email only for service-related reasons: confirming your meet & greet, scheduling visits, sending you the photo and notes from each walk, and handling billing. We do not send marketing messages. If we ever start, it will be opt-in only.
Cookies
Our marketing site does not use advertising or analytics cookies. The backstage operations console uses HTTP Basic Auth (no cookies set) for the operator only.
Data retention
We keep client and walk records while you are an active client, and for up to 7 years afterward for tax and recordkeeping. You can ask us to delete your records at any time and we will, except where we're required to keep them by law.
Data breaches
If a security incident affects your personal information, we'll notify you within 30 days, as required by Colorado law (HB 18-1128).
Children
Our service is for adult clients. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Your choices
- You can update or correct your information at any time.
- You can ask for a copy of what we have on file, or ask us to delete it.
- You can opt out of non-essential messages (we'll always still contact you about your dog and your scheduled visits).
Security
We use industry-standard hosting and access controls. No system is perfectly secure. If you believe an account or link has been compromised, contact us immediately.
Referral program
We run a partner referral program. If you reach us through a partner's link or code, we record that code with your inquiry so we can credit the partner if you become a client. When a referral converts, the partner is shown limited information about it, your first name, last initial, and the date, not your full contact details. You can ask us not to attribute your inquiry to a partner at any time.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy we'll post the new version here and update the date above. For material changes that affect existing clients, we'll also email you.
